Former Top Tier standout pitchers John Kravetz and Tony Bucifero earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors, after superb performances on the mound this past weekend.
Kravetz, earned the Big Ten Freshman Pitcher of the Week, after pitching 6 2/3 scoreless innings against #27 St. John’s on Sunday. Kravetz help lead the University of Illinois past St. John’s in a 9-4 victory. The freshman right-hander came into the game with the bases loaded and was able to induce a groundball which led to an inning-ending double play.

Kravetz played with Top Tier for 3 seasons as a 16U, 17U and 18U. Kravetz helped lead Top Tier to a 2010 CABA 17U World Series title.

Tony Bucifero earned his second Pitcher of the Week honors in his 4 year career at Michigan State this weekend after tossing six shutout innings against St. John’s University. Bucifero helped lead Michigan State to an 11-4 season opening win.  The former Minooka HS standout is a 2008 alum of Top Tier.
