Monette, an extremely athletic 6-foot-2, 180-pound RHP/OF from Willowbrook HS, has committed to Southern Illinois University. Monette emerged over the last year as one of the state’s most impressive prospects. On the mound, Monette possesses an 85-89 mph from a loose three-quarter arm slot to go along with a hard-biting slider.
Monette also runs a 6.8 60-yard dash and has a strong arm from the outfield. Monette’s commitment marks the second Illinois player in Southern Illinois’ recruiting class, joining Harrisburg OF Kollin Dowdy.
