The Top Tier 17u Americans finished their season in impressive fashion, capping a grueling week of baseball by winning the 17-under CABA World Series in Euclid, Ohio on Friday. Top Tier went 12-0 in the tournament to win the title for the second consecutive year.
Stevenson SS/RHP Kyle Ruchim put the finishing touches on an outstanding prep career earning the tournament’s Most Valuable Player honors thanks to his all-around spectacular play. Ruchim, the 2010 Chicago Sun Times Player of the year will continue his career at Northwestern this fall.
Oak Forest Class of 2011 OF Tim Barry became the all time leader in home runs amassing 21 the past 2 summers. Barry, 2009 CABA Most Valuable Hitter Award recipient was named to the All-Tournament team. Joining Tim on the All-Tournament team was Class of 2012 MIF/RHP Ryan Koziol of Brother Rice, and Class of 2011 LHP Paul Warble and MIF/OF Chris Godinez.

The Top Tier Nationals also had an impressive week finishing 4th for the second straight year.
