Three-time All-State OF Tim Barry, who’s on pace to shatter the state’s home run and RBI records, is off the board when the Oak Forest slugger gave a commitment to Kansas State on Sunday. In three varsity seasons, the 6-foot, 205-pound Barry has totaled an amazing 41 home runs and 170 RBI. His career home run total has him tied for second on the state’s all-time list behind Odin’s Curtis Parish (49), while his RBI mark is just 23 shy of the state mark of 193 set by Greenville’s Stefan Neece.

As a junior, Barry earned first-team All-State honors after he blasted 17 homers and 43 RBI while batting .578 and a slugging percentage of 1.256. Barry quickly established himself as the most feared hitter in the state when, as a freshman, he tallied 78 RBI, which tied him for second in state history for single season, two shy of the state record.

Top Tier RHP Max Allen also committed over the weekend. On the strength of a standout performance at the PBR GPA Baseball Camp, Allen earned a scholarship Georgetown University. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Allen is one of the more projectable pitching prospects in the state.
